Zach White Named 2nd Team All Star

Wake Forest relief pitcher Zach White was named a second team all-star by the Alaska Baseball League, as announced on Tuesday.

White, a rising junior from Lexington, N.C., has enjoyed a strong summer with the Anchorage Bucs. White has pitched in 12 games, including five starts, during the summer for the Bucs and has compiled a 3-3 record with a 2.23 ERA. White, who has a complete game to his credit, is tied for the team lead with 27 strikeouts and has allowed just 28 hits and 13 runs in 40.1 innings.

White pitched in 24 games for Wake Forest during the 2010 season, with two starts, and posted a 2-1 record with a 6.35 ERA. In 34.0 innings of work, White struck out 25 batters and held opponents to a .265 batting average. In two seasons as a Demon Deacon, White has pitched in 47 games and is 6-2 with three saves and a 4.75 ERA.
