
Taylor Darrow shoots one of her freee throws as Kelli Jarman and Maggie Fritts prepare to rebound and Hannah Sherman gets ready to defend
The North Davidson Middle School Lady Knights basketball team moved on to the championship game with a win over SouthDavie 45-22 tonight in Welcome. Lauren Ramsey scored 17 points and had 5 steals, and Taylor Darrow scored 13 points, going 7 for 8 from the free throw line. Amanda Davis recorded 8 rebounds.
The Lady Knights started off slowly, holding a slim 11-2 lead after the 1st quarter. They gradually pulled away, leading 20-8 at the half and 32-15 after 3 quarters. Other scorers included Maggie Fritts with 6 points and a game-high 6 steals, Hannah Sherman, Emily Rhodes and Summer McMillan with 2 points, and Davis, Kara Caldwell and Ebony Williams with 1 point.
The Lady Knights, now 15-1 overall, will play the winner of Brown-South Davidson (at last check, Brown had a comfortable lead at the half) next week. The game now is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday Feb 18th at Davie High School – but that is subject to change.
